Page blocks – sidebar blocks and navigation helpers

These four blocks are different from the rest of the block library: they don't go in the main content area. They go in the side panel — a separate block list available alongside the main content on Pages, News, Political News and Events, shown down the right-hand side of the page on the website.

Table of Contents

A jump-link list for long pages. Leave Auto ticked (the default) and it builds itself from the headings in your content — no maintenance needed as you edit. Untick it to enter your own list of titles and anchors by hand instead.

Don't confuse this with Outline (see Page blocks – text, images and layout) — Outline is a highlighted content box for the main page area, not a navigation aid.

Related News and Related Events

Two blocks that work the same way: a title, an optional category (or event type) filter, and a limit on how many to show. They pull recent News or Events automatically — nothing to write by hand beyond the filter and the count.

Links

A small related-links list — a title, then a set of items each with a link, an optional image and some text. Use it for a short "see also" list in the side panel. This is the one side-panel block also available on the homepage (see Editing the homepage).
