Page blocks – text, images and layout
These are the blocks you'll reach for most often when writing ordinary page content — plain text, text with an image, and ways to lay several pieces out together.
Text Section
A single block of rich text — headings, paragraphs, lists, links. The plainest block in the library; use it for anything that's just words.
Image Left, Text Right / Image Right, Text Left
One or more images alongside a block of text, side by side. The two blocks are otherwise identical — the only difference is which side the image sits on. Pick whichever reads better for the image you have.
Columns
Lay content out in side-by-side columns. Each column is either a Text Section or an Outline (see below) — add as many columns as you need, and the layout adjusts automatically for narrower screens.
Outline
Not available on its own — you'll only find it as a column type inside a Columns block. It renders as a highlighted callout box rather than plain text, so use it for a column you want to visually stand out (a summary, a key point) next to columns of ordinary text.
Don't confuse Outline with Table of Contents (see Page blocks – sidebar blocks and navigation helpers) — despite the similar name, Outline is a layout/highlight block, not a navigation aid.
Accordion
A set of expand-and-collapse rows — a title per row, with content that shows when clicked. Good for FAQs written inline, or any list of points where showing everything at once would be too long. Each row can optionally carry its own text, image, people cards, button or video.
There's also an embeddable version of Accordion, with the same name, that you can insert directly inside a Text Section or Image/Text block's rich text (via the editor's insert-block option) rather than adding as its own top-level block — useful for a short accordion in the middle of an otherwise plain paragraph. It works the same way, just without the option to add an intro line above it or nest other blocks inside its rows.
Gallery
An image carousel/gallery for showing several photos together.
